Troy DeCaire Crowned 2010 Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series Champion

"This was probably physically the toughest race I've driven all year, with jumping in a car I've never driven before, and knowing I had to take it to the front to win this championship, which makes this championship that much sweeter," said DeCaire. "I would like to thank Tony Swanson for working his butt off with me to get this car sorted, and also for just giving me a car to drive after me and my previous owner parted ways earlier in the week." Recently Troy picked up the Swanson-owned Competition Welding chassis, which was a backup to the team's primary, and worked on it all night Thursday and Friday to get ready for Saturday's big race. "I've never driven a Competition Welding car before and it was not easy, but Tony was great and each time we went out we picked up more speed" continued DeCaire. "I was fifth quick in practice and put down two solid laps to qualify eighth, right behind Bobby East, who had a pretty new car with a Roush Yates 410 in it, so I was pretty happy with that." The 2010 Must See Racing Xtreme Championship series consisted of 11 races. The MSRXSS was formed to provide a showcase for the fastest and best pavement sprint car drivers in the country. "This series is very competitive and it's only going to gain strength in the coming years," remarked DeCaire. "There are a lot of solid drivers with stout equipment, then add in some of the toughest tracks in the country, and you have in my opinion one of the best series in the country." DeCaire says that for him the biggest difference in driving any racecar is in adjusting to a different team, and in the way they approach their day-to-day operation. "As far as going from one chassis make to the next, I just try to approach each car with an open mind and apply what I have learned over the years on setup basics," explains DeCaire. "It's still a left hand turn and if it has four wheels and a seat I trust the people I surround myself with and I can make it work." In regards to his defense of the Central Florida Wingless Sprints Series DeCaire says, "Since I concentrated on the Must See Racing series up in the Midwest this year, and picking up some USAC rides whenever I could, I only had the chance to race once with the CFWSS series this year. However, it was a good outing for me, as the promoters put up some extra cash if I started last and could win, and I did. Plus it was nice seeing so many of my hometown fans once again, so it was a pretty special night for me."
