If you told John Dodge and Horace Dodge at the beginning of the 19th century that their baby, the Dodge Brothers Company, would become one of the biggest automobile companies in the world, they would probably have laughed out loud. Or maybe not? Maybe they secretly knew the potential of this family run business to affect the lives of millions and influence the automotive industry on an unprecedented level. John and Horace’s original business was a bicycle company that they soon sold in order to open up a machine shop in Detroit, Michigan, to make parts for the booming auto industry. After over a decade of making parts for companies such as Ford Motor Co, they opened up their own auto business.

In 1928, Dodge Brothers Company was bought out by the Chrysler Corporation that took Dodge vehicles to the next level of global awareness and production. The Dodge division of Chrysler continued to grow as the years passed releasing model after model and ultimately leading up to the creation of the Dodge Charger. The Charger was a response to the muscle car era in which Ford released the Mustang and Plymouth released the Barracuda. The extensive history of the Dodge Charger began in the 60’s and still runs strong today as the engine, aesthetics and overall performance continues to be a force to be reckoned with. K&N is all about performance and improving it when possible. That’s why K&N has had a long tradition of offering power gaining products for Dodge models.
